PAEONIA SHAWNEE CHIEF (PEONY)

Shawnee Chief's large flowers range from an unfading ruby red to a magenta or crimson red depending on the growing conditions, and are of a well groomed, rose-double form with a globular, high profile. Its outermost petals are large and broad and taper off in size as they approach the centre. Stems are sturdy, only benefitting from assistance during rain; plants show great vigor; bloom is profuse; growth is strong.
